Julia Fisher talks to Eliel – Today we’re in Haifa in northern Israel talking to Eliel. He came to Israel from Uzbekistan along with his Jewish mother and two brothers when he was a teenager. But settling into Israeli life proved difficult for Eliel; he started mixing with bad company and became a drug addict. When his life had spiralled out of control, his mother heard about the House of Victory in Haifa – a rehabilitation house for addicts run by believers – and it was there Eliel’s addiction was broken and he came to faith in Jesus. When we met recently, I asked Eliel to explain how his life developed after leaving the House of Victory because today he is a very different person!
Our aim is to build bridges… To build bridges of understanding and support, in a spirit of reconciliation, between believers (both Jewish and Arab) in the Holy Land (Israel and the Palestinian Areas) and Christians worldwide.
