OT330 – Handel’s Messiah in Hebrew – David Loden with Julia Fisher

Apr 20, 2017

Julia Fisher talks to David Loden – Today I’m in Netanya, a town just north of Tel Aviv, talking to David Loden. He came to Israel with his wife Lisa in the 1970’s and established a congregation called Beit Asaph. David is now in his 80s and for most people that means taking life a little bit slower … not for David – he’s busier than ever. A professional musician, for the past few years he’s been translating major oratorios such as Handel’s Messiah, into Hebrew. He has formed a choir and an orchestra and together they have held several performances around Israel to packed audiences. I asked him to explain his passion.

Our aim is to build bridges… To build bridges of understanding and support, in a spirit of reconciliation, between believers (both Jewish and Arab) in the Holy Land (Israel and the Palestinian Areas) and Christians worldwide.
