Julia Fisher talks to Luke – My guest today is a quietly spoken, self effacing young man from Wisconsin in the US. He first came to Israel aged 19 with his parents and stayed for just under a year before going back to America. He thought that was the end of his experience of living in Israel, however, when his parents returned for a second time, he felt it right to return with them albeit slightly reluctantly. However, as soon as he returned, he met his wife and they now have two young children and a third on the way. Luke found a secular job, but all the time longed to be working with believers. One day he received a phone call from Eric Benson, the director of the House of Victory, a faith based rehabilitation centre in Haifa for men struggling with addiction. I asked him what he did there.
Our aim is to build bridges… To build bridges of understanding and support, in a spirit of reconciliation, between believers (both Jewish and Arab) in the Holy Land (Israel and the Palestinian Areas) and Christians worldwide.
