Julia Fisher talks to Labib Madanat – Today finds us on a bus travelling from Tiberias, a city on the shores of the Sea of Galilee in northern Israel, through the heart of the West Bank up to Jerusalem. Our guide on this journey is Labib Madanat – the Middle East director of Bible Society work. The population in the parts of the West Bank that are under the control of the Palestinian Authority are largely muslim and this is an area that not many Christians visit. But our small group was going there to hear about the small number of Christians who do live there – people who feel forgotten by the rest of the world.
Our aim is to build bridges… To build bridges of understanding and support, in a spirit of reconciliation, between believers (both Jewish and Arab) in the Holy Land (Israel and the Palestinian Areas) and Christians worldwide.
